Baked goods: M&M cookies

Standard

As promised ages ago, I have finally returned to provide recipes for some of the ugly pictures I posted a few weeks ago. In the time since I made the M&M cookies, I have managed to make them a second time since one awesome, fruity-cake-loving colleague brought me a large supply of M&Ms from his holidays abroad. 🙂 So I made some more of the very American-style M&M monsters and supplied them to my local Oslo office and the (supposedly undeserving) Stockholm office as well.

To make your own…

M&M cookies
(You could easily make this dough with whatever you want… M&Ms or other small candy pieces or chocolate chips)
Preheat oven to 375°F

2 ¼ c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 c. butter
¾ c. sugar
¾ c. packed brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs
M&Ms or chocolate chips

Combine flour, soda, salt. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Mix in eggs one at a time. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips or M&Ms (or both!). Drop onto ungreased (preferably parchment-lined) baking sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes. Let cool on the sheet a few minutes and remove to racks for full cooling.
