I love the expression "fly off the handle". Almost as much as when people say "get a hold of yourself". Recently I think I "flew off the handle" when I got hurt. For once I did not react with sadness but with indignant anger, so I did not feel as hurt or as vulnerable as I had imagined I would. And I decided not to tolerate or linger on it. I simply flew off the handle and moved right along (or, actually… got a hold of myself. Ha!).
